Side-Impact Airbags and Our Country's Future

You've got it figured out already, huh.  The title tells the whole story.

Yep, son #3 and two friends were driving back to school yesterday.  The best and the brightest.  Their school is the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and they are all graduating next week.  Thank God they are all graduating next week.  It could have been a lot different.

They came home to drop off my son's stuff and spend a few days before all the graduation activities begin.  Yesterday they headed back up to Colorado (from the Phoenix area) in son's fairly new huge, extended cab and bed, Chevy truck.  Somewhere between Payson and Heber, a deer stepped out into the road.  While swerving to avoid the deer, the rear wheel of the truck went off the pavement.  From there they rolled.  And rolled.  And rolled.  Three or four times - who counted?

With everything that went wrong - so much went right.  It was a clear day.  No traffic.  The truck, amazingly enough, did not hit any trees.  The air bags deployed.  They all had their seat belts on.  A few stitches in one head, and some sore muscles, but all three young men walked away.

Amazing.  Now they walk into active duty for this country.  May things always work out so well.
