Please take just a moment to link to this post on tiny buddha.  The title is “The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention.” (John Burroughs)

I find this site to be very calming, yet thought-provoking at the same time.  Much of it is common sense, yet often needs to be brought to the front of our thoughts.  This particular post speaks to me because I see one of my own flaws being addressed, which is that I often assume if someone is not doing what they say they will do, I assume they do not care.

I say that, then I think about the times I have made excuses for people repeatedly.  So is there a fine line?  I mean, isn't it possible in many situations that those who do not follow through really just don't care?  Or could it be that they haven't had the motivation because we always excuse them?

"Five seconds of an embrace is worth more than intentions to be loving."

I wish everyone could read this and take it to heart.  I wonder how much hurt could be avoided by this simple principle.
